Dropped kerbs in Conwy County Borough Council: fee, who builds it and how to apply
Everything you need to apply for a dropped kerb (vehicle crossing) with Conwy County Borough Council, from the council's own website. Last checked 4 October 2026.
Who builds dropped kerbs in Conwy?
Conwy won't carry out the crossing works itself: you pay a private contractor of your choice. Before work starts you need a Section 184 agreement with the council as highway authority; the council publishes a list of approved contractors who may help with price estimates.
Wales has its own planning rules. Vehicle crossings in Wales come under section 184 of the Highways Act 1980, as in England, but permitted development rights are set by the Welsh Government, so England's planning guidance doesn't apply. See the Welsh Government's householder permitted development technical guide (PDF) or ask Conwy's planning team.
