Who builds dropped kerbs in Croydon?
Croydon's guidance says construction of the crossover is carried out by the council's appointed contractor. If your application is approved, the council charges for the construction and associated works.
You don't need to find a contractor for the crossing. Croydon builds dropped kerbs itself, so apply to the council and pay its quote. Use our printable checklist and timeline to get your application right first time. You can still choose your own builder for the driveway.
How much does a dropped kerb cost in Croydon?
Homeowner application fee: £163.60. Non-refundable application fee covering processing and a site inspection. It doesn't cover building the crossover, and isn't refunded if your property doesn't meet the criteria.
Total council fees: £163.60 (plus the council's price for building it).
Building it: Croydon doesn't publish a typical construction price. Councils that do publish prices quote roughly £1,000 to £3,500 for a standard crossing.
